Dr. Geetanjali Basarkod (🔊) is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Positive Psychology and Education (IPPE), Sydney, Australia. Her research program focuses on answering the following question:
How can we create inclusive environments where adolescents and young people can thrive and reach their full potential?
She answers this question with two related streams of work:
Improving diverse youth’s social outcomes (e.g., sense of school belonging and reduced bullying)
Improving adolescents’ and young people’s moral decision-making, to ensure they are equipped with the frameworks and cognitive skills necessary to navigate complex social situations and contribute positively to society.
She is particularly interested in synthesising the existing evidence on the above through systematic reviews and meta-analyses, with the aim of using the best quality evidence to build interventions to improve moral and psychosocial outcomes.
Dr. Basarkod is an expert in quantitative methods, psychometrics, and statistical analyses. She has published papers on methodologies such as genetic algorithms and local structural equation modeling. A full list of her scientific publications can be accessed through Google Scholar.
She has also demonstrated quality teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including unit development.
